Due out May 7, 2024 during AAPI Heritage Month, Simone is an unforgettable story that sensitively addresses climate change and displacement due to natural disaster which many children across the nation have faced and continue to face — and how children can come together, through art, to express their emotions.
Author Viet Thanh Nguyen and Illustrator Minnie Phan will visit with Kippsters in the 3rd and 4th grades at KIPP Vida Preparatory Academy on May 6, 2024. This is the schedule:
7:45am - Join "Vida Time" whole school assembly (as a guest) where we will celebrate AAPI Heritage Month.
8:00-8:45am - Presentation to 4th grade class
8:45am-9:00am - Transition
9:00am-9:45am - Presentation to 3rd grade class
